The Southern Network supports agencies in the provision of out of home care for children by developing, maintaining and utilizing a culturally supportive continuum of resources. This includes:

  • Coordinate and manage emergency placements for children and youth who are involved with the Child and Family Services system
  • Find alternatives to hotel placements as per the “no hotel usage policy standard”
  • Collect, track and review hotel usage by Agencies
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a creative continuum of culturally supportive resources for children, families, and communities
  • Compile a central list of Provincial resources with a sustainable tracking system including the maintenance of a provincial foster home registry
  • Working together with other agencies to maximize the resources and benefits for families and communities including the sharing of resources between agencies

Participate in a province wide foster parent recruitment and retention strategy including foster parent training
